Hard Week

Ray: Been a hard week this week. Mom and Kacia had a girls night to shop and eat Sunday. Oysters Rockefeller = three hard days and nights of stomach sickness for Mom. Kacia and Lukas have been scrambling to finish their English portfolios for school and Mom and Dad have to read and comment on many papers. We got through it. Rechelle had a better day today. Kara and Kayley also did writing/spelling assignments. Here's a litte one from Kayley.

How To Prepare To Make Food By Kayley Salgado

When preparing to make a dish, it is sometimes hard to remember to BE FATHFUL TO THE DIRECTIONS, and you often get the wrong stuff out because you get confused, leading to failure and disappointment. In this easy-to-use how to, you will learn how to prepare to make a dish in a few simple steps! Good luck, and have fun cooking and welcome to prepare to make food maintenance!

The first things you want to do are look at the recipe and see what you are going to bake and what stuff you need to bake it. For instance, we are going to use a recipe of chunky pecan pie bars courtesy of Nestle Chocolate Chunks. The ingredients you will need will be:

Crust:
All-purpose-flour.
Butter, softened
Packed brown sugar

You may have noticed how I did not put the measures next to the ingredients, this is so that you will take it ONE STEP AT A TIME. Before you learn the measurements, get out these ingredients. Done? Now get out these measurement cups.

Flour: 1 ½ cups
Butter: ½ cup (1 stick)
Brown Sugar: ¼ cup

Now that you have these ingredients and measuring devices, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, then grease a 13x9 in baking pan. Done? Set those aside as well and get these ingredients out, remember to put these on a separate part of counter than the crust ingredients.

Filling: AFTER YOU ARE DONE:
3 large eggs
Corn syrup ¾ cup
Granulated sugar ¾ cup
Butter, melted 2 Tbsp.
Vanilla extract 1 Tsp.
NESTLE r TOLL HOUSE
r Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks 1 ¾ cups (11.5-oz. pkg.)
Coarsely chopped pecans 1 ½

After you are done doing all of these things, follow your directions, put your delicious Chunky Pecan Pie Bars in a container and save them for when you rejoice about having made them! Save the remainder for someone else’s praise to you!
