Rain
A Poem by Kayley Salgado

The rain is so much better than coal!,
Clears your mind and refreshes your soul,
Hear it trickling, pouring, falling down,
Knowing that you will most definitely not drown,
Because God made a promise,
And his promise is true,
He will not flood it and he promised to you,
By sealing his promise with a heavenly sign,
A mirage of colors shining oh so divine,
So enjoy the rain and the freshness it will bring,
Do not be afraid, let the rain sing,
It’s tippety-tappety song on the house,
Or the shack or the porch even if you are a mouse,
Because it will only come for a while, it’ll leave,
And the sun will come back so even if it’s your pet peeve,
Try to soak in the naturalness; it is like the wind,
It floats gently sometimes, sometimes it is hard, and it makes you spin,
But there is something about it that warms you inside,
Makes you feel happy and oh so alive,
This is the part that I love and adore,
And it makes me hope that it will rain just once more!
